  1. […] April 15: Easter, the sequel. Today was Orthodox Easter in Romania — the day most Romanians celebrate. A friend invited us over for a traditional meal of vişinată, ciorba de perişoare, sarmale, slanina, and homemade wine and chocolate cake. She also had a basket full of eggs dyed in the traditional way — with leaves and petals that make designs when the eggs are colored with red and yellow onion peels.
