December 27: The ice prince.
Our second day in Budapest we took the kiddos ice skating in City Park. (Well, the baby and I rooted for everyone else from the sidelines.) Lollipop and Giggles had fun, though I think it was much harder than they thought it would be, which was frustrating at first. The castle backdrop was beautiful, and Daddy’s patience teaching made the morning a big success.

  1. […] December 29: These are a few of our favorite things. We ended our vacation with a six-hour drive home yesterday, talking about our favorite things from the trip. We all liked the last-minute fiaker carriage tour we took of Vienna, though my husband and I fully recognized that we would never have done it (so touristy! so expensive!) if the kids hadn’t been with us. But we knew they would love it. And, turns out, we did, too. We followed the ride with cake and hot chocolate at a local konditorei before heading to Slovakia and Hungary. […]

  2. Wow! That castle is an amazing backdrop for a skating rink! We are waiting for weather cold enough to go outside and enjoy it – so far our one snow storm has melted into oblivion, remembered only in photos. But! We are looking forward to winter storms verging on blizzard-like conditions starting tomorrow night! And I don’t have to work until Tuesday! Perfection!
Have a blessed and happy New Year, Stacia!
