October 15: Winter wonderland.
We drove up to a popular skiing area on Saturday to have lunch at a restaurant that a friend had recommended. Turns out, the restaurant was closed, but the view (and the snow flurries we encountered on the way up and down the mountain) was amazing! The car’s thermometer got as low as -3 degrees Celsius, which was much colder than any of us are used to! We ended up at a mediocre restaurant (the only one open … with about 10 things from their menu actually available to order), but the table right next to panoramic windows overlooking evergreens dotted with freshly falling flakes was well worth the soggy french fries.
