September 16: Going bananas for bread.
There’s a little brutărie, or bakery, right around the corner from us. Literally. Right around the corner. It’s called Holly Bread, and the kitchen takes up the entire shop. If you want bread, you walk up to the white awning out front and place your order: pâine neagra, pâine alba, pâine integrale, and more. We’re still figuring out all the kinds they make and are really looking forward to trying their cozonac around the holidays. Today, my dad and Bun walked over there to buy a loaf for sandwiches and came back with a delicious bag of fresh-baked rolls, too. Now we’re stocked up for the weekend!
