September 9: Our house guest.
When some expat friends mentioned they were having trouble finding someone to watch their dog while they spent an extended period of time at home in the States, our ears perked up. We couldn’t ignore the opportunity karma had placed in front of us — because we, too, had just been through the struggle of finding temporary homes for our own pets so we could have this adventure in Romania. So we said we’d love to have her. She came for an afternoon visit. She stayed for a sleepover. And now? She’s ours for the next nine months. She’s sweet and smart and protective and a good nap-taker … all the things a dog should be. We’re still getting used to each other, of course, but it’s nice to once again have a furry friend in the house.
