June 26: Inside Salina Turda, the centuries-old salt mine in the Transylvanian town of Turda. We spent the afternoon paddling the underground lake and riding the Ferris wheel on the mine floor. After climbing 20 flights of stairs back to the surface, we refueled with cake from a nearby bakery.

  1. Wow…that is much more polished than I would have imagined. Looks like fun… especially the refueling stop at the end. Does icing translate universally?

  2. I want to see what an underground lake looks like. While I rafted the Grand Canyon I saw a thunderous waterfall that was pouring out of one of those things. Shew! the POWER!
