April 30: One-shop stopping.
Thanks to the advice of our innkeeper, we stopped in to visit a famous Romanian woodcarver on our way to the monastery in Bârsana over the weekend. He still practiced his craft but had turned over most of the business to his two sons and was starting to teach his grandson. He was so friendly with the kids and encouraged us to take lots of pictures … which we did. This one, of his tiny shop, is my favorite.
